SOLUTIONS CENTRAL | September 2024| mrfpr.com/blog

LIBERTY, Missouri – Continental Disc Corporation – an industry leader in rupture disc design, innovation, and manufacturing technology – announces the newest addition to its pressure relief product line: the APX rupture disc

A reverse-acting rupture disc ideal for liquid, gas, or vapor applications, the APX rupture disc specializes in toxic and corrosive environments where super alloys and other exotic materials are often required.

“The new APX rupture disc continues the legacy performance that our customers have come to expect from our flagship HPX® rupture disc product family, including low Kr factors and high cycling, as well as reliable performance specifically designed for hazardous processes.” states Trey Rothenberger, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing at Continental Disc Corporation. “In addition, the APX covers a broad range of material options to meet a spectrum of applications.”

Unique in its form, the APX integrates the arcuate into the rupture disc, resulting in a streamlined weld-free assembly that allows customers the autonomy to select from an extensive variety of material options. From super duplex and super austenitic stainless steels to Alloy C22 and other materials, customers can pick and choose the APX holder’s construction to best meet their needs.

The APX is available with insert, pre-torqued, or double disc holder assemblies to assure proper orientation while keeping the system leak-free.

The addition of the APX rupture disc expands Continental Disc’s broad product offering of overpressure safety solutions for the chemical processing, industrial gases, oil and gas, and transportation industries.

Features:

  • Developed for highly toxic and / or corrosive service.

  • Operating ratio capabilities of up to 95% burst pressure to meet industry standards.

  • Broad range of burst ratings from 20 – 600 psi to meet a wide pressure range of toxic service applications.

  • Standard height, reduced height, and custom height holders available to adapt to piping restrictions.
